About Aberdare

Aberdare is a suburb of Cessnock, a large town based on coal mining in the Lower Hunter Region, New South Wales, Australia. Aberdare is a small suburb just 15 minutes from wine country, 45 minutes from Newcastle and two hours from Sydney. George Brown found coal in the area in 1800s. Coal mining created the land boom of 1903-23 and by 1926 Cessnock had a population of 12,000 within a 1,600 m (1 mi) radius.

Questions

Do I need an account to look at hotels?

No. Searching, city pages, hotel pages and live prices are open to everyone. You sign in to Kashlei only when you book, so your booking and cancellation are tied to your account.

When do I pay?

You pay the full amount when you book, through Stripe Checkout. The total is the hotel's nightly prices for your rooms plus the Kashlei fee of $9.99 per room per night, and you see the breakdown before you pay.

Is my room held while I pay?

Yes. When you start checkout the rooms are held for about 31 minutes. Your booking is confirmed only after Stripe confirms the payment; if checkout expires, the rooms go back on sale and you are not charged.

How do I cancel?

Open your booking page and choose Cancel booking. If you cancel before the hotel's free-cancellation deadline you get a full refund, including the Kashlei fee. After the deadline, or for a non-refundable hotel, no refund is issued. The policy is shown on the hotel page and on your booking.

What if the hotel cancels?

If the hotel cancels your confirmed booking, you are refunded in full to your original payment method.

Who runs these hotels?

Each hotel is listed by a business that is a verified Kashlei seller (identity verified) and has accepted the Kashlei Hotel Terms.
