San Francisco, officially the City and County of San Francisco, is the 17th-largest city and second-densest major city in the United States, with a 2025 population of 826,079. Do I need an account to look at hotels?
No. Searching, city pages, hotel pages and live prices are open to everyone. You sign in to Kashlei only when you book, so your booking and cancellation are tied to your account.
When do I pay?
You pay the full amount when you book, through Stripe Checkout. The total is the hotel's nightly prices for your rooms plus the Kashlei fee of $9.99 per room per night, and you see the breakdown before you pay.
Is my room held while I pay?
Yes. When you start checkout the rooms are held for about 31 minutes. Your booking is confirmed only after Stripe confirms the payment; if checkout expires, the rooms go back on sale and you are not charged.
How do I cancel?
Open your booking page and choose Cancel booking. If you cancel before the hotel's free-cancellation deadline you get a full refund, including the Kashlei fee. After the deadline, or for a non-refundable hotel, no refund is issued. The policy is shown on the hotel page and on your booking.
What if the hotel cancels?
If the hotel cancels your confirmed booking, you are refunded in full to your original payment method.

Each hotel is listed by a business that is a verified Kashlei seller (identity verified) and has accepted the Kashlei Hotel Terms.
